The beautiful holiday destination of Celerina is situated right
in the middle of the Engadine Valley near St. Moritz, 1730 metres
above sea level and has 1,500 inhabitants. Situated in the sunny
valley of Upper Engadine, Celerina has approximately 1800 hours of
sunshine per year among the front-runner in Switzerland. Although it
is close to St. Moritz, the village has kept its own charm as well as
its own traditions. At the same time, Celerina profits from this proximity.
Therefore the tourists' motto in Celerina is "Enjoy the holiday far from
the hustle, but close to the action". Throughout all seasons Celerina offers
a variety of activities as well as a diversified caledar of events.
In summer time, an active holiday is ensured with facilities for cycling, fly-fishing,
paragliding, hiking, tennis, golf or swimming in one of the lakes. Wintersports
fans find it a real paradise for skiing, snowboarding and ski touring. Modern
mountain lifts take them up to 3000 meters above sea level into the well-known
skiing area Corviglia-Marguns. Another highlight of this regions is the famous
bobsleigh run "Olympia Bobrun St. Moritz-Celerina" which is made of natural ice.
